Phenylpropanoid and iridoid glycosides from Caryopteris incana (Thunb.) Miq.

Two new phenylpropanoid glycosides, incanosides A and B, together with two known glycosides, 8-O-acetylharpagide and 6'-O-feruloylsucrose, have been isolated fromt he whole plants of Caryopteris incana (Thunb.) Miq. On the basis of chemical and spectroscopic evidence, the structures of incanosides A and B have been determined as #beta#-(3-hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl)ethyl #beta#-D-glucopyranosyl)1->2)-#alpha#-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1->3)-6-O-feruloyl-#beta#-D-glucopyranoside 3 and #beta#-(3-hydroxy-4-methyoxyphenyl)ethyl #beta#-D-glucopyranosyl(1->2)-#alpha#-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1->3)-#beta#-D-glucopyranoside 4, respectively.
