Two new cembranoids from the soft coral Lobophytum catalai Tixier-Durivault of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands

摘要

Chemical examinaiton of the ethyl acetate extract of the soft coral Labophytum catalai Tixier-Durivault,collected from Diglipur island of the Andaman and Nicobar group of islands, furnishes two new cembranoids 2 and 3, nephthenol 1, a novel furanosesquiterpene 4, four polyhydroxysterols 5-8 along with a mixture of sesquiterpenes and a mixture of monohydroxysterols. The structures have been elucidated by a study of their physical and spectral data.
