Phytoconstituents of Phlogacanthus tubiflorus Nees (Acanthaceae): Phlogacanthin, a new diterpene lactone (andrographolide) isolated from the root wood

Phlogacanthin 2, a naturally occurring andrographolide has been isolated from Phlogacanthus tubiflorus Nees (Acanthaceae) made available from humid rainforest of Arunachal Pradesh,India along with the known compounds #beta#-sitosterol, lupeol and 3-epibetulin. The structure of the new compounds has been elucidated on the basis of elemental analysis and spectral data.
