Microwave assisted hetrocyclization:A rapid and effecient synthesis of 1,5-benzothiazepines

摘要

1,5-benzothiazepines 3 have been synthesized in 75-90% yield by a microwave promoted condensation of 2-aminothiophenol 2 and various chalcones 1 in the presence f catalytic amount of glacial acetic acid using N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) as a reaction mediator.The work-up is simple and involves treatment with ice-cold water.
