Potentiometric measurements of para and nitro substituted aroamtic acids in methanol

摘要

In this study,the potentiometric titrations of para and nitro substituted aromatic acids in methanol hav ebeen reported. Good analytical results are obtained in determining the amount of acids andtheir mixtures by using 0.0964 N tetrabutylammonium hydroxide (TBAH) as a standard titrant. A linear relationship has been found between pK_a values of hte para and nitro substituted aroamtic acids in water and the half neutralizaiton potential (HNP) values measured by potentiometric titration of the same acids in methanol.
