Mononuclear hydrido carbony]complex[RuH(CO)(PPh_3)_2-(eta)~2-tptz]]BF_4(tptz=2,4,6-tris-(2'-pyridyl)-l,3,5-triazine)has been used as a building block in the synthesis of homo/hetero binuclear complexes.The complex[RuH(CO)(PPh_3)_2(tptz)]BF_4 behaves as a potential metallo-ligand.Its reaction with different molecules ranging from K_2PtCl_4,[PdCl_2(PhCN)_2],chloro-bridged dimeric arene ruthenium complexes[{Ru(eta~6-arene)(mu-Cl)Cl}_2](arene=p-cymene or benzene),[{Rh(eta~5 -C_5Me_5)(mu-COC1)_2}and[Rh(COD)(mu-Cl)]_2(COD=1,5-cyclooctadiene)leads to the formation of binuclear complexes.The homo and hetero binuclear tptz bridged complexes[RuH(CO)(PPh_3)_2(mu-tptz)PtCl_2]BF_4,[RuH(CO)(PPh_3)_2(mu-tptz)PdCl_2lBF_4,[RuH(CO)(PPh_3)_2(mu-lptz)-(eta~6-C_(10)H_(14))RuCI](BF_4)_2,[RuH(CO)(PPh_3)_2(mu-tptz)(eta~6-C_6Me_6)-RuCl](BF_4)_2,[RuH(CO)(PPh_3)_2(mu-tptz)(eta~2-COD)Rh](BF_4)_2 and[RuH(CO)(PPh_3)_2(mu-tptz)Rh(eta~5-C_5Me_5)Cl](BF_4)_2 have been synthesized and characterized using IR,NMR,ESMS and FAB mass spectra.
