LIFE-TABLE OF APHID PARASITOID, LIPOLEXIS OREGMAE (GAHAN) A PARASITOID OF APHIS GOSSYPII GLOVER REARED ON PIGEONPEA

Different life-table statistics such as age-specific survival, age-specific reproductive and net fecundity rates, intrinsic rate of natural increase, doubling time of the population and generation time of the aphid parasitoid, Lipolexis oregmae (Gahan) (=Lipolexis scutellaris Mackauer) on its host Aphis gossypii Glover infesting food plants Cajanus cajan were studied under constant environmental conditions. Female parasitoid survived for 8.1±1.4 days. Total fecundity rate (R) of 115.8±9.6 (total births/female), net reproductive rate (RJ of 75.4±7.8 (daughters/female), generation time (GT) of 23.54 days, doubling time of the population of 3.8 days and fenles biased sex ratio (0.346) were observed. This information will be useful in the biological control of A. gossypii through L. oregmae as a bioagent.
