Energy Saving Measures Implemented at KRIBHCO-Hazira

Sustaining the efficient operation of a giant fertiliser complex like KRIBHCO involves judicious selection of efficiency enhancing options without compromising reliability,meticulous planning of activities and their execution without time overrun,elimination of impeding bottlenecks,continuous introspection of operational practices,and keeping abreast with the latest technological developments in the industry.Though KRIBHCO is a two-decade vintage plant,commendably it has been successful in sustaining the energy performance and also in setting up new benchmarks year by year.Though substantial energy savings are expected only from major technological upgradation of plant process,KRIBHCO never remained complacent and went on exploring all possible options for improving the energy performance to the best levels possible.This paper highlights some of the important modifications implemented in KRIBHCO fertiliser complex during recent years.
