Energy Conservation Efforts in SPIC Urea Plant

摘要

Over the last two decades the Fertiliser industry has undergone technological development mainly in reducing the energy.Steep rise in the energy price over the years led to evolving of strategies to produce efficiently and reduce the energy consumption of the products.Due to technological development,for the new plants,designers have already taken care of minimising the energy usage and utilities usage in the design stage itself.Whereas for the vintage plants like SPIC,in order to compete with new generation plants,technology upgradation,innovative operational changes and minor modifications are essential.At SPIC urea plant,several such innovative operational changes and small modifications have been implemented,which have resulted in energy conservation.Various innovative operational changes and minor modifications taken up in SPIC urea plants to conserve energy are presented here.
