Role of Micronutrients in the Productivity of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants

MEDICINAL AND AROMATIC PLANTS include a wide variety of plants: small, low biomass producing plants, plants that spread on the surface of land, grasses, herbaceous plants, shrubs, climbers and trees. Some are annuals and others are perennials. Commercial mediculture is well established in India (1). Some of these plants have nutrient requirements that are different from those of normal agricultural crops. Some of them are suitable for cultivation in problematic or marginal soils and for phytoremediation of contaminated soils.
