FAVOURABLE MONSOON

The south-west monsoon reached over Kerala, a few days before its normal date of arrival (i.e., 1st June). Out of 36 meteorological subdivisions, as many as 30 sub-divisions received normal to excess rains during 1st June to 30th September'07, as against 26 sub-divisions during the corresponding period in the previous year (Table 10). Overall precipitation at 937 mm was 5% higher than the normal precipitation of 892 mm.
