Mitigating Greenhouse Gases Emissions GNFC Initiatives

摘要

GNFC,a joint sector company promoted by Govt.of Gujarat and GSFC in 1976,have various plants including Nitrophosphate Complex.The article refers to various initiatives taken by GNFC for their Weak Nitric Acid Plant for reduction ofN2O and generation of Wind Power to reduce consumption of fuel,ultimately reducing CO2 emission to atmosphere.The paper describes the methodology of clean development mechanism project - N2O abatement system and the steps required for registration.GNFC has adopted secondary method for reduction of N2O and presently the base data has been collected.GNFC has also gone for 9 MW Wind Turbo Generator and also planning to go for another 12 MW generation capacity through same route.The total reduction in emission of equivalent CO2 to atmosphere will be approximately 340,000 MTs annually.
