Soil Testing Day and Crop Seminar

Under the FAI-APP "Soil Health Enhancement Project", Deepak Fertilisers & Petrochemicals Corporation in collaboration with FAI-WR organized a Soil Testing Day and Sugarcane Crop Seminar at village Chale, Taluka Pandharpur, District Solapur (Maharashtra) on 21st May 2012.During morning session, a demonstration of soil sample collection was organized on the field of Mr. Ganpat Wagh, which was attended by about thirty five farmers. At the beginning of the programme, Mr. R. K. Kolhe, Manager (Agri Business Sales), DFPCL, Pune welcomed the guests and farmers present at the programme. Mr. Kolhe explained the need and importance of soil testing in agriculture. Mr. S. N. Bangar, DGM, DFPCLdemonstrated and explained the method of soil sample collection from the field. Mr. A. N. Burujwale, Dy RE, FAI-WR informed about the importance of balancedfertilisation in maintaining soil health and advised the farmers to get their soil analyzed regularly. The programme ended with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Santosh Kadam, SE, DFPCL Pandharpur.
