摘要

Of late, increasing attention is being paid to harness the potential benefits from renewable sources of plant nutrients. Agriculture, devoid of recycled organic wastes, is facing a disorder in physico-chemical and biological properties of the soil. Composting is the best method to utilize huge quantum of refuse generated as a renewable source of plant nutrients if properly managed. However, the use of organic manures is facing a serious problem mainly due to its low nutrient content and poor rate of mineralization. This paper analyses the attempts made to utilize industrial and farm wastes, their enrichment with minerals and bio-activators and effect of micronutrients for sustained rice productivity.
