IN ORDER TO ENSURE EQUITABLE distribution of fertilisers across the country, the Government of India has been framing various policies relating to movement and distribution of fertilisers over the last six decades. All the policies relating to movement and distribution of fertilisers, aimed at ensuring equitable distribution of fertilisers throughout the country. Currently, it is only the 50% of the domestic production of urea which is under movement and distribution control. However, Government keeps a strong vigil even on the movement of decontrolled fertilisers and tries to ensure equitable distribution of all fertilisers across the country with the help of the Industry. The Fertiliser Industry has stood behind the Government all along in fulfilling the objective of ensuring fertiliser availability throughout the country despite various constraints encountered by it from time to time.
