FAI-Southern Region organised a four-days non residential programme on "Fertiliser Marketing-cum-Financial Management" during January 22-25, 2008 at Hyderabad. Forty-five executives from Marketing, Finance and Logistics disciplines nominated by 12 organisations participated in the programme.Mr. K.S. Raju, Co-Chairman, FAI and Chairman and Managing Director, Nagarjuna Fertilisers and Chemicals Ltd, Hyderabad, inaugurated the programme.' While delivering the inaugural address he said that to achieve the desired growth in agriculture, fertilisers have to play a vital role and that is possible only if the fertiliser industry keeps good health and remain on growth path. The Indian fertiliser industry today carries a very negative image in the minds of investors and will find it very difficult to raise the capital because the returns from this sector have become unattractive, while other sectors provide relatively much higher returns, he stated.
