Effect of Pseudomonas fluorescensr Humic Acid and Fertiliser Levels on Growth and Yield of Cabbage

A field experiment was carried out during two successive winter seasons (2009 & 2010) at Vegetable Research Farm, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, BHU, Varanasi. Studies confined to the effect of pseudomonas fluorescens and humic acid in combination with different levels of fertiliser on cabbage (cv. golden acre). The experiment consist of ten treatment combinations viz., [(i) 100% RDF (control), (ii) 50% RDF + Pseudomonas fluorescens, (iii) 75% RDF + Pseudomonas fluorescens, (iv) 100% RDF + Pseudomonas fluorescens, (v) 50% RDF + Humic acid, (vi) 75% RDF + Humic acid, (vii) 100% RDF + Humic acid, (viii) 50% RDF + Pseudomonas fluorescens + Humic acid, (ix) 75% RDF + Pseudomonas fluorescens + Humic acid, (x) 100% RDF + Pseudomonas fluorescens + Humic acid using in randomised block design with three replications. Pooled data of experiment revealed that seedling treatment with pseudomonas fluorescens and humic acid and application of 100% recommended dose of fertilisers gave significantly greater fresh biomass yield (75.8 kg plot), total biological yield (185.9 kg plot'1) and marketable yield (110.1 kg plot). Significantly, maximum morpho-physiological parameters of cabbage were recorded with 100% recommended dose of fertilisers and combined inoculation of Pseudomonas fluorescens and humic acid. Minimum growth and yield observations were observed with 50 % recommended dose of fertilisers + Pseudomonas fluorescens which was statistically at par with control as 100% inorganic fertilisation. Application of humic acid with fertiliser gave more growth and yield compared to pseudomonas fluorescens inoculation.
