Backing british: Sourcing food domestically is on the government's agenda, but do Whitehall departments walk the walk?

It's a mulii-billion pound business that doesn't look after its own - providing our children, communities and national workforce with food. That's the state of public procurement in the UK today. Despite the drive to deliver a world-class sustainablefarming industry, the government's Public Sector Food Procurement Initiative (PSFPI) is not all it ought to be. So, whose fault is it? Farmers, for not diversifying? The big four food services - 3663, Brakes, Compass, Sodexho - for not pushing domestic produce? Or government? The answer probably lies somewhere in-between.
