IPL - IMPHOS WORKSHOP ON EERTILISERUSE TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER TOFARMS

Indian Potash Ltd. (IPL) in collaboration with World Phosphate Institute (IMPHOS), Morocco organized a Workshop on Fertilizer Use Technology Transfer to Farms at Raghunathpur village, Jagatsinghpur district, Odisha. on December 8, 2009. Dr. Babuji Giri, Additional Director of Agriculture and Food Production, Odisha inaugurated the workshop. He expressed his concern for low crop yields, decreasing response ratio to applied fertilizers in spite of increase in fertiliser consumption in the State and advised the farmers to use more fertilizers, adopting balanced use whereby they will be able to increase crop yields and farm profit. Mr. T. Mrabet, Secretary General, IMPHOS in his Presidential address expressed his happiness that he was visiting an area in Odisha where IMPHOS for last 3 years has supported a project: 'On farm Demonstrations at Farmers Fields on Balanced Use of Fertilisers in association with IPL. He appealed to the farmers to make best use of the project to increase crop production. In his introductory remarks, Dr. A. Nassir, Asia Coordinator, IMPHOS gave a brief introduction about IMPHOS IPL collaborative project at farmers fields on balanced use of fertilizers in India under which the workshop was organized and highlighted other activities undertaken by IMPHOS over time in India in particular and in Asia in general.
