This paper presents the growth story of Coromandel Fertiliser Limited Visakhapatnam.It illustrates our experience in a continuous improvement process.The philosophy in increasing the capacity of the plant is to look for bottlenecks and eliminate them at the earliest,with Better technology and higher capability-The experimentation,stretching the plant consciously and cautiously,improving the reliability of the equipment by good operating and engineering practices,providing spares for critical equipments,quick and timely maintenance and close control of important and critical process parameters,formed the core of the improvement process.The cross functional Operations Improvement Team replaced the functional organisation as driving force in product and process development.This has paid rich dividends for Coromandel.
