I care passionately about the state of our natural environment and want to leave our countryside and our environment in as good as state as possible for our children and grandchildren. I am driven by a desire to do everything I can for our natural environment. I think that the role of Chairman is to provide leadership and inspire people, be an ambassador for the organisation and ensure it has proper governance - I've been chairman of quite a number of organisations and that's what I will bring to Natural England (NE).
