摘要

Collagenase enzymes are produced from Clostridium histolyticum bacteria, with molecular weights ranging from 68 000 to 125 000 daltons. They are metalloproteinases requiring zinc and calcium (1). Crude collagenases contain an aminopeptidase, a neutralprotease, and clostripain [clostridiopeptidase B; (2)], which act synergistically to degrade collagen, and are suitable for disaggregation of a variety of animal tissues. However, disaggregation with crude collagenase is sometimes unsuitable for certain tissue types and can lead to reduced cell viability and yield.
