Era Technology is based near Leatherhead in Surrey although it also has facilities at Houston and in Singapore. It employs over 500 research scientists, engineers and support staff and although originally an electrical research organisation, it now covers a range of industries. As might be expected, its particular strength is in areas associated with electrical engineering and electronic systems, including radio frequency technology and -electromagnetic compatibility. But it is also currently involved in various mechanical engineering and materials technology projects, for example, a long-term study on the effects of creep in steel.
