Participatory Plant Breeding in Coffee Research: Need of the Hour

摘要

A growing awareness of the failure of conventional development approaches in meeting the needs of people led to the exploration of alternative methodologies for investigating the resource management issues, planning, implementing and evaluating development activities. Participatory approaches are one bunch of such alternative methodologies. The basic philosophy of the participatory approach is that all the stakeholders should participate in all the processes like problem identification, identification of strengths, alternative solutions, planning, monitoring and evaluation.
