State-of-the-art Energy Efficient Sprinkler Systems

The 26th of May, 2011, was a red letter day for the Indian Coffee Plantation Industry, because on this very special day, the Chairman of the Coffee Board, Mr. Jawaid Akthar inaugurated the Country's 'First of its kind State-of-the-Art Energy EfficientSprinkler System' at Joe's Sustainable Coffee Plantation, Kirehully Estate, Sakleshpur, India. Irrigation is the backbone of agriculture, irrespective of size of holding. This aspect is of critical importance for the success of coffee cultivation. The rainfall inside coffee plantations is not evenly distributed throughout the year. Due to globalwarming, the rainfall is uncertain, erratic and altogether unpredictable. Some parts of the coffee plantations may receive rainfall for the year in a few days,without another drop of rain for the year.
