摘要

The growth of Spirulina platensis in terms of dry biomass was evaluated in standard (CFTRI) medium supplemented with different concn (10-60%) of Benincasa hispida waste extract (PWE) at different temp., pH, agitation and light intensity. Results showed that the max. growth rate measured in terms of biomass (dry wt.) and chlorophyll a content was recorded as 2.337 g/l and 21.209 mg/g, respectively, where cultures were illuminated under 3 Klux fluorescent light at 30 +or- 2 degrees C, pH 9.5 +or- 0.1 and agitated for 2 min, 3 times a day. Results indicate that favourable culture conditions during Spirulina culture could be instrumental for good biomass and chlorophyll production in PWE.
