摘要

Supply chain economics of organic mango vs inorganic mango has been compared in Tamil Nadu state of India. The primary and secondary data were collected to meet out the objectives of the study .The data was analyzed by using simple tabular analysis method. It has been found that the total cost of production per hectare for organic mango (Rs 53125) was higher than inorganic mango (Rs 36875) and the net returns per hectare was found to be higher for organic mango (Rs 81900) than inorganic mango (Rs 28125). It was concluded that the organic mango was more profitable than inorganic mango. The marketing margin for various stakeholders viz. mango grower, commission agent, retailer, small vendors/fruit stalls was higher in organic than inorganic supply chain and the marketing efficiency was very high in (6.20) organic than inorganic supply chain (2.67). High organic certification costs, some of the organic mango producers were not getting premium price, lack of separate organic sales outlets, lack of market information, lack of awareness and organic producers groups were not organized in proper manner were the most serious constraints in the organic supply chain.
