Proper matching of implements with tractor and performance evaluation of the combination is important in minimizing the expenditure of energy in the farm. A tractor-cultivator combination was investigated in the present work. Experiments were carried out in order to determine the draft, fuel consumption and slip of the tractor in the above combination in the field of the Department of Agricultural and Food Engineering. Statistical analysis reveals revealed that the speed and depth of operation have significant effects on the draft. Based on the findings, operating speeds and gears for 10 cm and 12.5 cm depth of operation were selected.
