3D Printer in Space to Replace Parts!

NASA has taken a step forward towards space manufacturing by sending a 3D printer to the International Space Station this September. Astronauts will now be able to replace broken parts by printing new ones or by inventing necessary tools in space. The printer will enable them to make plastic objects of almost any shape inside a box about the size of a microwave oven. On ground, NASA already uses 3D printers as a fast, cheap way to make spacecraft parts, including next generation rocket engine components.
