A field experiment was conducted during thesummer season of 2002, at Agricultural Research Farm, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India, to evaluated the response of different doses (20,40 and 60 kg S ha~(-1)) and sources (gypsum and Sulphur-95) of sulphur on growth and yield components of summer green gram (Vigna radiate L. Willczek) as well as nutrient availability in soil tafer crop harvest Growth and yield component as well as nutrient availability in soil were significantly improved by applied sulphur. Gypsum @ 40 kgha*1 was superior forall the parameters over other doses of sulphur except availability of phosphorus and sulphur in soil which concurrently increases with applied sulphur and was highest with gypsum @ 60 kgha*1. Among the sources of sulphur, gypsum giver? better response than sulphur-95 at each level but differences were not reached the level of significance.
