A technique used in medicine to see what's going on inside patients is being used by automotive group Delphi to test components. Test and measurement is a core part of any manufacturing process. One necessary evil when measuring small components is the need to cut them open to get a full set of results. The part is effectively destroyed and, even worse, the very act of cutting and filing can warp the component, rendering results inaccurate before measuring even begins.
