Heparin given after stroke could improve neurological outcomes

Low-molecular-weight heparin could be used to reduce early neurological deterioration following acute ischemic stroke according to the findings of a recent study. Sing Lawrence Wong, of the Prince of Wales Hospital in Hong Kong, and colleagues investigated the neurological effects of stroke in patients receiving heparin versus patients receiving aspirin in the 10 days after stroke occurrence.
