Over the past 30 years the desizing properties of hydrogen peroxide have been developed as an alternative to enzymes. An attempt has been taken to develop a single preparatory process for starch sized woven cotton fabric by using hydrogen peroxide as a desizing as well as bleaching agent. An optimized recipe for the process was formulated. The process results in optimum level compared to conventional bleaching and proves to be more economical than the conventional process.
