HOUSING DESIGN FOR A HOT ARID REGION IN AUSTRALIA

The following are reported: (a) Results of a study on the thermal performance of existing building stock in the Pilbara Region of the N.W. of Western Australia, (b) Recommendations for the thermal retrofitment of existing building stock to reduce energy costs, (c) Description of a new prototype house designed to minimise energy costs, on site labour costs and reliance on local materials.
