The recent trend of research and development made in horticultural crops are appreciable. To harness the potential technological intervention is essentially required, as there is a big gap especially in the eastern region. In this context, it is pertained to have complete analysis of the technologies developed and factors affecting their adoption so that a gap between the present level of production and productivity could be abridged. The 4-day Conference organized by the Lt. Amit Singh Memorial Foundation (LASMF) at Mahamada village in Samastipur, Bihar, during 27-31 May 2009, with the technical support of ICAR, NHB, NHM, TMNE, and Ministry of Agriculture and NHRDF, is really required, particularly by the poor small and marginal farmers having highly fertile land of this region. The farmers got quality planting material, seed of improved varieties besides enriching their farming skill with the help of various speaker scientists from/ICAR institutes and State Agricultural Universities. The exhibition showing scientific achievements added value to the conference manifold.
