Indian cement firms will report modest earnings for the last quarter despite a rise in sales volumes because oversupply and fierce competition kept a lid on prices while costs rose, analysts said recently. The scenario is unlikely to change in the current quarter in the world's second largest cement market after China, with prices expected to remain steady even though demand continues to grow by about nine per cent, they said.
