The experiment was conducted to study the effect of mineral supplementation on oestrus induction and conception rate of anoestrus buffaloes. Thirty five buffaloes in anoestrus (since last six months or more but free from reproductive abnormalities) were selected and divided into two groups. Five were kept as contrbl whereas animals of experimental group were supplemented with 60 g commercial minerdl mixture/animal/day mixed in concentrate mixture for ISO days. The supplementation of mineral mixture induced ovulatory oestrus in 86.7% (26/ 30) of anoestrus buffaloes. Out of 26 buffaloes inseminated, 21 (80.7%) conceived with 1 to 4 inseminations. First insemination conception rate was 34.6%. Maximum conception rate (47.0%) was observed in second artificial insemination. The study conclusively revealed that anoestrus in buffaloes occurs mostly due to imbalance rations deficient in various minerals in the study area which may be corrected by supplementing mineral mixture in feed.
