Impact of Dairy Farming Interventions of Institution Village Linkage Programme of National Dairy Research Institute

The study was conducted in Kamal district of Haryana with a sample of 50 beneficiaries and 50 non-beneficiaries to know the impact of Technology Assessment and Refinement through Institution Village Linkage Programme (IVLP) of National Dairy ResearchInstitute in terms of the level of knowledge and adoption of dairy farming interventions. It was found that beneficiaries were having more knowledge on breeding, feeding, healthcare and fodder production than the non-beneficiaries of the programme. Similarly, beneficiaries of programme had higher adoption level over non-beneficiaries. It was also observed that the herd size, milk production and sale, extension contact, mass media exposure, attitude towards TAR/IVLP programme and knowledge about dairy farming interventions had positive and significant relationship with adoption of dairy farming interventions. Thus the beneficiaries of the programme were having higher knowledge and higher level of adoption than non-beneficiaries due to the various interventions of IVLP proving positive impact of the programme.
