Disaster risk reduction: The pivotal role of geography

The study of disaster risk reduction may have different approaches depending on the underlying schools of thought; the most important is undoubtedly the geographical one, which studies the spatial aspects of human-environment interactions. The global environmental changes and the growing impact of disasters represent an extraordinary research opportunity for Italian geographers.
