Bulls of Holstein-Friesian (HF) breed from different countries viz. Australia, Denmark, France, Israel and USA and three crossbred bulls produced from the matings of US bulls with Sahiwal dams have been widely used for crossbreeding in the cattle breeding project of Punjab Agriculture University (PAU), Ludhiana (India). The crossbred cows produced from these bulls have 75 to 87.5% exotic inheritance and in some cows had fraction of Red Dane inheritance as the bulls from this breed were used in the initial stages of crossbreeding. This study was conducted to find out the differences at the molecular level among the crossbred cattle produced from the Holstein-Friesian bulls from different countries. At least six crossbred progenies from each of the bulls from different countries were tested with 30 random primers and six primers were found to be polymorphic. Band sharing was found to be more within the group than between the groups. This study indicated that there are differences at the molecular level among the crossbreds produced using sires obtained from different countries.
