摘要

Numerical simulation plays an important role in understanding the various mechanisms of flows with interfaces and free-surface flows. Despite the limitations of current numerical techniques, the continuous improvement of computational power continuously extends the range of affordable problems. Numerical simulation also provides a means to visualize flows when experimental visualization is difficult or impossible. The various methods for interface simulation may be divided into two classes, namely, fixed-grid method and moving-grid method. In fixed grid methods, there is a predefined grid that does not move with the interface. In moving-grid methods, the interface is a boundary between two subdomains of the grid.
