A Computational Algorithm for the Stokes Problem I. Methodology†

A computational method of solution to the Stokes problem for a single body in an unbounded fluid is proposed. It is based on a transformation of the general solution due to Lamb, to a boundary value problem. The algorithm is applied to spheroidal shapes, and estimates of errors are obtained.
