Caterpillar to install a second FMS

In our September 1983 issue, we reported that Caterpillar in Uddingston, Scotland, intended to install a flexible manufacturing system (FMS) for production of tractor components later this year. Now, plans have been revealed for a second system to be installed in the same factory. Rory Baxter reports exclusively from inside the Caterpillar works.
