Incidence of reproductive disorders in crossbred cows

The aim of the present study was to find out incidence (percent) of various reproductive disorders, viz., anoestrous, repeat breeding, metritis, abortion, still birth, dystocia, retention of placenta, prolapse of uterus in 219 crossbred cows comprising 958 lactation records maintained at 3 different farms. The data taken up for study was classified into 9 different genetic groups. Out of total 958 births, 271 (28.3 percent) births had reproductive disorders at all the farms. The average incidence ofanoestrous, repeat breeding, metritis, abortion, still birth, dystocia, retention of placenta and prolapse of uterus was observed as 16 precent, 7 percent, 0.1 percent, 2 percent, 0.7 percent, 0.3 percent, 2.2 percent, 1 percent respectively.
