摘要

Comparison of total solids content in cow and buffalo milk by conventional Gravimetric, Microwave drying and lactometric method have been made. The microwave method gave results comparable to gravimetric i.e. conventional oven drying method. Though the values of lactometric method were slightly low but the difference was statistically insignificant. Microwave oven method requires less energy and time as compared to the conventional oven drying method. However the method may have to be standardized for type of oven used, time of heating area of sample placing and type of container used.
