Section 515 Loans Not Funded in Fiscal 2008 Budget; Section 538 Guaranteed Loans Get Increase

The Bush Administration did not provide funds for Section 515 rural rental housing loans in its fiscal 2008 budget, but more than tripled the amount for Section 538 guaranteed multifamily loans to $200 million and provided $27.8 million for preservation and revitalization of existing Section 515 projects. The budget also provides no money for Section 502 direct single-family loans.
