Quench Detection and Trigger Cricuit for Protecting K-500 Main Magnet Superconducting Coil

The quench protection system of a superconducting magnet of K -500 superconducting cyclotron envisages different actions to save the coil. All the key features have been discussed here. It detects the quench and sends a trigger signal to the associated circuit breaker contactor for isolating power converter, for connecting the fast dump resistor circuit to decay stored energy and for monitoring during operation of pre-trigger.
