摘要

The present study deals with accumulation of some heavy meals (Cu, Zn, Mn and Fe) in soils of paddy field, betelvine orchard and rose garden in surrounding areas of Kolaghat thermal power plant (K.T. P.P.). Soil of the areas surrounding K.T. P.P. is adversely affected by fly ash which contains heavy metals (Cu, Zn, Mn and Fe) in different ranges of concentration which have been found to increase significantly through time but decrease with distance. The amount of Zn and Cu in soil was below the soil toxicity level but Mn and Fe were present above the toxicity level.
