The search for the origin of dark matter

We trace the history of the evidence for dark matter in the universe starting with 1993 Two "smoking gun" evidence now exists. We then trace in some detail the development of the two-phase LiXe dark-matter detector from our invention in 1997 to ZEPLIN II and the future LUX, This method has an excellent chance to lead to the discovery of dark-matter particles.
