Age-related changes in lysine isoacceptor proportions and acylation capacity of rat liver transfer RNA’s with little change in physical properties

The transfer ribonucleic acids of livers from male Sprague Dawley rats of 3 and 24 months were compared. The tRNAs were similar in the following properties: UV spectra from 220-340 rim, thermal denaturation in low salt or high buffer, and electrophoretic migration on 5 polyacrylamide gels. Electrophoresis on 10 or 2 dimensional 10–20 gels showed some differences between the young and old tRNA population
